Unattended campfires are likely to escape, they must be attended by a responsible adult.
Safe campfires are allowed in approved fire rings, fireplaces, and burn barrels with a screen to prevent sparks and embers from leaving the fire, after 7:00 PM only.
Gas or propane stoves / barbecues and portable CSA approved propane fire pits or deck heaters are allowed.
Fires may become serious quickly, extreme caution must be used in any burning activities, a spark arrestor screen that is no larger than 1 .25 cm openings and designed to cover the fire pit openings in such a manner to sufficiently contain and reduce airborne sparks must be used.
Burning of Large Fires and discharging Fireworks are suspended and no new fire permits will be issued.

A safe campfire is located on non-combustible material, contained within a non-combustible ring with a screen, the space above the fire and the area around the fire is at least three metres from vegetation or other combustibles and the fire does not exceed one metre in height and one metre in diameter.
